The conspiracy of daily life and mother nature
If you are living and breathing, life can be very busy and take you off the right track towards your education. No matter how long or short you day may be Mother Nature can throw you a curve ball and your education can come to a halt. Now for adolescents the snow days are the best thing in the world but in all actuality a snow days will throw me back. Keep in mind a college semester goes by fast. There are no make-up days for snow. If you miss it, its gone. Especially when you have course that’s only 8 weeks long. One week missed can add a huge load on you for the next class session. Mother Nature is not the only thing that will set you back from getting an education. Children, family, waiting on contractors (especially when they give you that lovely 4 hour window), and a flat tire can put a delay in the education process. I know there are some teachers that have a 15 minute window for you being late. On the contrary some people would disagree. A missed day in class due to snow or bad weather can be a good thing. That one day could give you extra time to complete that 20 page paper, catch up on some house chores or just get a couple of hours of sleep. I know I could sure use some good sleep right about now. For the past 10 years I have been complicit towards my learning and education. I took 10 years off of school when I should have continued my education. Always remember that no matter what you do in life you need your education. Look at continuing your education is like having the key to more money.
